Nelson

Long Term Plan

Nelson is one of 75 towns selected by government to benefit from investment to drive ambitious regeneration plans. Nelson will receive £20m to develop a Town Plan over the next 10-years, which will prioritise issues that matter to local people, including high streets, heritage and regeneration, transport and connectivity, and safety and security.

In the next few months, a Town Board made up of local community leaders will draw up a long term plan for Nelson. But this must be driven by local needs, with ideas and priorities rooted in Nelson’s communities. We want local people and visitors to Nelson to feel heard and part of this plan, which is why we are asking you to spend 10 minutes filling in the form below.

Nelson Long Term Plan – second phase of engagement – June 2024

After engaging with Nelson’s communities, we are now actively considering the following ideas based on what residents, businesses and other stakeholders have told us. These suggestions will help us develop a 10-year strategic plan for Nelson to establish a shared vision for the future of the town.

To help us refine these ideas and take them forward as part of the first three-year investment plan to secure the first phase of funding, please share your thoughts and feedback in the open text box below. We particularly want to know how you would like to see this programme work for Nelson.
